Archives For expense reports

This guest post is Part 2 in a 3-part series discussing taxes written by Christopher Remus, author of Tax Pain Relief.

In Part 1, I talked about the different sources of tax season pain such as stress, tension, and anxiety. This pain is compounded by our attempt to avoid the pain by procrastinating, which only serves to add more pain to the process of getting our taxes filed.

The good news is, it’s possible to break the tax pain cycle using the system outlined below. How do you get started? Simply follow these five manageable steps outlined below. Continue Reading…

CEO Robert Guarino of 5 Napkin Burger

“I am lucky. When I travel for work, my job is to eat, drink, teach and learn…. not sort receipts. I am happy to let Expensify handle the mundane while I do what I do what I love.” — CEO Robert Guarino of 5 Napkin Burger

Submit to Concur

Submit to Concur, easy as 1, 2, 3!

You might have read the news that our friends at Concur have just sold to SAP, a global enterprise powerhouse.

This is great for nearly everybody: SAP, Concur shareholders, and especially for us.  As for Concur customers… well the future just got a bit cloudier (and not in a good way).  They probably feel locked into a long-term contract with a company whose focus has suddenly shifted away from their needs, and I’m sure that doesn’t feel great.  Expensify exists to help people feel great about their expense reports, so in light of the news we’re offering a very special deal:  Continue Reading…

In previous Expensify blog posts you may have heard us refer to WOW Fridays. Every Friday at Expensify, we allow our engineers the freedom to work on projects of their choosing, that aren’t necessarily part of our immediate product roadmap. We do this in order to allow them to exercise their creative freedom with the benefit that we end up with some really cool additions to the product. Well, the latest product of WOW Fridays is here: Continue Reading…

Forming Habits with Expense Reporting

Whether you work at a startup, a large corporation, or something in between, the end of the month always means one thing: it’s time to get those expense reports in!

People often consider expense reporting to be a pain in the elbow, and that’s why we’ve made it our mission to make expense reports suck less. Using Expensify can help significantly reduce the overall time it takes to finish a report. Even better, pair it with an incremental behavioral change and you might actually look forward to submitting your expense report every month (we can dream right?).  Continue Reading…

As we continue towards our major realtime expense reporting push, we are continuing to streamline the Expensify product. This started with simplifying our pricing structure and now involves changing the way report submission and approval works for those people using Expensify outside of an expense policy. When users submit reports outside of an expense policy, the reports are now moved to the “closed” state and shared with the person the report was submitted to. The recipient of the report still has the ability to approve the report by moving the report to a policy.  Continue Reading…

One year ago, Expensify raised prices — the first time, ever — in order to get profitable.  That worked (thanks everyone!), but today is very different.  Today we are changing pricing in order to lay a foundation for a simpler and better product, even though the net effect of this change on our total revenue will be neutral.  This new pricing scheme is in effect today, and will first affect the 7/1 billing cycle.  Continue Reading…

Now that you have Expensify, those Sundays spent crafting crude paper expense reports (with receipts taped to the back) are a thing of the past, and perhaps you’re on the lookout for additional timesavers. I forward my emailed receipts to receipts@expensify.com to get them into my account, which is super convenient. But what if I could take it a step further, and didn’t even have to forward them in the first place? Continue Reading…

You may have noticed that we’re not the biggest fans of expense reports. Our deep-seated hatred for them is what drove the creation of Expensify. After several years of battling the forces of terrible expense reports, we’re now 1.6M users strong with almost a quarter million companies under our belt. As a thank you to our community we wanted to offer a new contest.

Expense It with Expensify

It’s called the Expense It with Expensify Contest (we’re good at expense reports, not naming things) and you and your company can win a FREE YEAR of Expensify!  Continue Reading…
