Forming Habits with Expense Reporting

Whether you work at a startup, a large corporation, or something in between, the end of the month always means one thing: it’s time to get those expense reports in!

People often consider expense reporting to be a pain in the elbow, and that’s why we’ve made it our mission to make expense reports suck less. Using Expensify can help significantly reduce the overall time it takes to finish a report. Even better, pair it with an incremental behavioral change and you might actually look forward to submitting your expense report every month (we can dream right?).  Continue Reading…

As we continue towards our major realtime expense reporting push, we are continuing to streamline the Expensify product. This started with simplifying our pricing structure and now involves changing the way report submission and approval works for those people using Expensify outside of an expense policy. When users submit reports outside of an expense policy, the reports are now moved to the “closed” state and shared with the person the report was submitted to. The recipient of the report still has the ability to approve the report by moving the report to a policy.  Continue Reading…

One year ago, Expensify raised prices — the first time, ever — in order to get profitable.  That worked (thanks everyone!), but today is very different.  Today we are changing pricing in order to lay a foundation for a simpler and better product, even though the net effect of this change on our total revenue will be neutral.  This new pricing scheme is in effect today, and will first affect the 7/1 billing cycle.  Continue Reading…

Now that you have Expensify, those Sundays spent crafting crude paper expense reports (with receipts taped to the back) are a thing of the past, and perhaps you’re on the lookout for additional timesavers. I forward my emailed receipts to receipts@expensify.com to get them into my account, which is super convenient. But what if I could take it a step further, and didn’t even have to forward them in the first place? Continue Reading…

You may have noticed that we’re not the biggest fans of expense reports. Our deep-seated hatred for them is what drove the creation of Expensify. After several years of battling the forces of terrible expense reports, we’re now 1.6M users strong with almost a quarter million companies under our belt. As a thank you to our community we wanted to offer a new contest.

Expense It with Expensify

It’s called the Expense It with Expensify Contest (we’re good at expense reports, not naming things) and you and your company can win a FREE YEAR of Expensify!  Continue Reading…

Here at Expensify, we’re constantly striving to improve our product. User feedback drives a majority of these improvements. Corporate Card Reconciliation, Invoicing, and Prepay are all examples of new features developed due to user demand. Now, we are happy to announce some improvements to our report approval workflows. The workflows were already highly customizable, but our users wanted more options. You asked for it, and we’ve delivered! Approval workflows now have the ability to dynamically change based on report value.  Continue Reading…

Last week David announced some changes to our pricing. This week we would like to introduce an option that many of you have been requesting for a long time that will actually help offset that change to our price. We are happy to announce that you can now Prepay for Expensify!

Have you ever dumped all of your receipts on your hotel bed before numbering them, arranging them, then snapping a picture to document those transactions… only to then make an excel sheet to explain those pictures and numbers to your accounting department?

This saves time and hassle, right? THAT SOUNDS LIKE A MYTH TO ME.  Continue Reading…

In conjunction with SIGNALFIRE, Expensify threw an afterparty for their University Hack-a-thon… and it was EPIC. Of course we had a great time chatting with quite a few collegiate geniuses about their projects in the hack-a-thon, but that wasn’t the point. We wanted to give them a chance to relax and celebrate their hard work. So, thanks to SIGNALFIRE, all of our participants, and everyone who helped make the party a massive success.
