Archives For November 30, 1999

Even though February is now behind us, it gave us one extra day (yay, leap year!) to do amazing things. Last month, we focused our attention on some of our next big features. Some of them you will find detailed below, but some of them won’t be out for a little while yet, so be sure to keep an eye out for more hotness in the future!

We hope that you enjoyed the holidays as much as we did and are looking forward to an exciting 2016.  Although our team took a little time off over the holidays, we still managed to roll out some pretty cool new features. In an effort to improve how we communicate changes to our product, we’ve launched a Product Changes feed that you can subscribe to in order to get more frequent updates.  Continue Reading…

The Gift of Time Intuit guest blog post for Expensify

The best way to carry success into the New Year is to move down the checklist and make sure everything is wrapped up — figuratively and literally — for the holiday season. For business owners, this means final expenses, deductions, and tax preparations.  Continue Reading…

This month, we’ve released most of the new features developed while on our annual offshore in Cambodia and Thailand. These features have been in beta for a while, but have now been released to all users.

For Everyone

We got tired of looking at the same old thing every day, so we have given our site a facelift with some new and improved styles. We hope you enjoy it!  Continue Reading…

Hey there, it’s Matt from the Success Coach team in Expensify. Straight off the success from our Real Time Expense Report feature launch, you can now import Items from QuickBooks Online and use these Items in place of categories for expenses on your policies. Items are an excellent way to allow for greater reporting in QBO.

To quote Deborah Defer, Senior Director of Accounting Services at BDO:

“Small businesses may have the need for additional reporting.  Utilizing multiple feature sets of QuickBooks Online with invoicing customers, classing, items, locations, and items on vendor bills provides the ability to create customized  reports.  This is huge!”

Hey there! My name is Conor, one of the Success Coaches at Expensify. Ours is a new team, dedicated to ensuring expense reporting happiness for our customers. This week, we’re proud to bring users of our QuickBooks Online integration a great new feature: export to credit card sub-accounts!

Those familiar with QuickBooks Online and Expensify will be aware that early this year we switched over to Intuit’s new API. With the new integration, we significantly reduced the amount of time customers spent exporting from Expensify to QuickBooks Online, improved the stability of the integration, and added support for vendor bills and billable expenses. Overall, our customers loved this new connection and took full advantage of it.  Continue Reading…

As part of the Webucator Tips series, we’re excited to share this power tip to current QuickBooks students. Read, share, and drop some knowledge!

When we first meet a potential Expensify user, the first thing we typically ask is, “How do you do your expense reports?” and “What accounting software do you use?”

Okay, so that’s actually two questions, but it’s hard to ask the first question without following up with the second. If you’ve ever had a hand in either, it’s easy to guess that expense reporting and accounting are intricately linked.  Continue Reading…

Greetings, and Happy Wednesday! We’re excited to announce that our long-awaited (and oft requested) update to our QuickBooks Online integration has officially arrived. We’ve written about this topic before, but in case you missed it, there are plenty of reasons to make the switch once your books are closed for April 2014. The most important reasons include:  Continue Reading…

In a few weeks, Expensify will be releasing a brand new version of our QuickBooks Online integration. This complete overhaul was built to be faster, more stable, and so much easier to use.

Here’s a brief overview of the new features that will be part of this integration:

  • Vastly simplified connection setup: configure the policy once and export your reports to QBO without having to specify which accounts to export to, or export type, etc.
  • Billable flags are now passed from Expensify to QBO
  • Classes and locations now import as report fields in Expensify
  • Export preferences can be configured based on expense type (reimbursable vs. non-reimbursable)
  • Employee and vendor records automatically match to the Expensify report submitter.
  • Connect your Expensify policy to QBO in two clicks.

Additional features, like tax support and export date configuration, are already planned and will be added in the future.

This new integration is currently in a closed beta test. If you would like to take part in this beta, simply email jason@expensify.com and specify that you would like to be able to test the new QuickBooks Online integration.

Thanks, we can’t wait for this to go live!

One of the things we pride ourselves on at Expensify is flexibility. Our users have a very diverse set of needs and our goal is to find a simple solution that meets all of them. While the QuickBooks integration that we have built is great for most users, we realize that some people like an extra level of customization. This is why we are taking the time to let you know about this custom QuickBooks integration option.
