Hi! Why Expensify do not update the mileage automatically?
Great question Alex! We don’t automatically update mileage because not all users use the standard mileage rate. Many companies use their own mileage rates, and we don’t want to auto-update everyone’s for this reason.
Thank you Joanie! It makes sense.
So, if I update the rate in an Expensify Policy and someone posts a claim for an expense incurred prior to today, Expensify uses the old rate, right? Otherwise I’d have to check every mileage claim after the change to check that the right rate was applied, and manually make adjustments if it wasn’t, which sounds like a lot of unnecessary work.
Hi Aaron,
We do not currently offer a way to bulk modify your mileage rate from previous trips. We send important updates to users through our in-app notifications. We apologize for the inconvenience.
