Even though February is now behind us, it gave us one extra day (yay, leap year!) to do amazing things. Last month, we focused our attention on some of our next big features. Some of them you will find detailed below, but some of them won’t be out for a little while yet, so be sure to keep an eye out for more hotness in the future!

We hope that you enjoyed the holidays as much as we did and are looking forward to an exciting 2016.  Although our team took a little time off over the holidays, we still managed to roll out some pretty cool new features. In an effort to improve how we communicate changes to our product, we’ve launched a Product Changes feed that you can subscribe to in order to get more frequent updates.  Continue Reading…

This month, we’ve released most of the new features developed while on our annual offshore in Cambodia and Thailand. These features have been in beta for a while, but have now been released to all users.

Hello! Conor here from the Success Coach team in Expensify. We’re pretty keen on shaking things up when they need a shake, and we’ve recently updated the look of our expense reports and the mobile app SmartScan flow for the better. We’ve also been working hard to prepare for the Real-Time Expense Report revolution, with the eventual goal that an employee won’t need to do an expense report at all, it’ll all just happen. All of this required that we re-think how we organize the policy editor and tidy things up.  Continue Reading…

WHEN: February 12th, 8pm– 12am PST

WHAT: Full site downtime, all services down. Mobile apps will continue to work as if they are offline.

As part of our commitment to upholding the highest security standards, we rotate encryption keys for our server infrastructure annually. Our next window for updating these keys will be from 8pm – 12am PST, during which users will be unable to access the main Expensify website, including through partner portals such as Salesforce.

We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

This week’s Expensifier of the Week is MSP Leadership, a London based company developing and inspiring leaders of all levels through executive coaching, leadership development and team development workshops.

MSP-Leadership was founded to push the limits of leadership in pursuit of excellence. A former Concur user, expense reports used to take time away from that. The MSP team used to “spend years scanning receipts and filling out spreadsheets,” says Director Aaron Penwill. With more complex reports on their horizon, they knew it was time for a change. As a result of the switch, the team agrees they work at least 20% faster than Concur and 200% faster than their old expense reporting process.  Continue Reading…

A mobile app is a necessity for any company trying to make it in the big league. At Expensify, we’ve built apps for iPhone, Android, BlackBerry, and Windows Phone – and even had a Palm Pre app too, when it mattered.

Compared to mobile web usage, mobile app browsing time has increased by 6% from 2013 to 2014. It’s no wonder that companies are vying for a mobile user’s attention by building a native app. Developing a mobile app isn’t easy, but avoiding these three common misconceptions can drastically increase your reach and adaptability.  Continue Reading…

Forming Habits with Expense Reporting

Whether you work at a startup, a large corporation, or something in between, the end of the month always means one thing: it’s time to get those expense reports in!

People often consider expense reporting to be a pain in the elbow, and that’s why we’ve made it our mission to make expense reports suck less. Using Expensify can help significantly reduce the overall time it takes to finish a report. Even better, pair it with an incremental behavioral change and you might actually look forward to submitting your expense report every month (we can dream right?).  Continue Reading…
